Steve loves to eat big fat juicy worms, but unfortunately they give him wind.
He was the one that told the donkeys about the field, where everything donkey's like to eat grew.
At the time he was staying with relatives near Rainbow bridge, but he would dearly love to marry, have kids, and live in a home of his own.
Eddie is an extremely nosy donkey which means he's usually the first one to hear of any rumours or local gossip.
Merlin is bold and brave which is why he was elected the natural leader of the herd.
"I liked the way the author used a variety of words that will extend the readers vocabulary and provide good talking points.
There is an educational link to hedgehogs (nocturnal and food source), the main learning point being that things are not always better somewhere else. I think that’s really evident. I liked that some of the donkeys turned back, the message being that if you feel unsafe or change your mind that you can always go back.
I liked it, it reminded me of one of my favourite authors as a child, Dick King-Smith.
Thank you for sharing it with me." 😊

I really enjoyed this book and loved that the donkeys in it are named after the real ones at the Donkey Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight. I also loved the hidden message about being happy with what you already have.

On Thursday the 6th of March, as part of world book day, both my grandson Lucas and I were interviewed, live on air, about our donkey book.
Lou Hannan, was fantastic and the interview seemed to go well.
I was super proud of the way Lucas spoke and presented himself at such a young age.
No, it's not the title of my new book, it's just me having my breakfast on the balcony of our new apartment !
I had a fantastic time at Wellstead Primary school recently, after being invited in as their guest speaker. They made me feel very welcome, and years 1,2 and 3 were both attentive and exceptionally well behaved.
Many thanks to the organisers and to all those who participated.
We booked a stall for the show thinking that we would be outside near the kiddies corner, but the weather had other ideas. In the end we were positioned inside where we had a lovely dry day and met lots of friendly people.
