This is my very first children's book.
I wrote it after visiting the Donkey Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight.
I spent a lovely time there with some family members, including my grandson Lucas.
At the time of our visit the sanctuary were appealing for donations towards the cost of an on-site clinic.
Lucas, knowing that I was a writer, asked if I could write a book about the donkeys, believing that we could sell it to help raise funds for the cause.
So, inspired by his enthusiasm, I wrote the story. I then commissioned a wonderfully talented artist from the Isle of Wight, called Hilary Love, to provide the illustrations needed to bring my story to life.
I hope that the book will be popular, as all profits from its sale will go towards the charity.
It is being published by Ginger Fyre press and is now available to buy from various websites including Amazon and Waterstones. Its also available to by through the publisher or in the bookshop at the sanctuary in Wroxall on the IOW.
