The Search For Donkey Paradise (Award-winning entry of the 2025 IOW Book Awards)
My first published children's book.
It was written following a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight, along with several members of my family, including my grandson Lucas.
At the time we visited the sanctuary were appealing for donations towards the cost of an on-site clinic.
Lucas, knowing that I was a writer, asked if I could write a book about the donkeys, believing that we could sell it to help raise funds for the cause.
So, inspired by his enthusiasm, I wrote the story. I then commissioned a wonderfully talented artist from the Isle of Wight, called Hilary Love, to provide the illustrations needed to bring my story to life.
I hope that the book will be popular, as all profits from its sale go towards the charity.
It is published by Ginger Fyre press and is now available to buy online, through the publisher, or in the bookshop at the sanctuary in Wroxall on the IOW.

This story is about a black cat called Tomaz, who comes to England together with his owner to escape the war in Ukraine.
He is initially rejected by the neighbourhood cats, but after an act of extreme bravery, he soon becomes not only a trusted member of their gang but also their hero.

When a worker bee becomes dissatisfied with his role in the colony, he decides to visit the queen to ask for another job.
But drone bees have only one role to play and that is to collect nectar to make royal jelly.
When he goes against all principles by visiting the Royal palace, the queen sympaphise with him and together they come up with a plan.
Will the plan work?
Will the other bee's notice?
What impact will it have on the colony?
